The useful question is not simply “Can you tow a car?” It is “Can you tow this year, model and drivetrain in its current condition?” Tell the provider whether it is front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, AWD or 4WD if you know. If you do not know, give the exact model and say so.

Describe the problem and the space around it
A vehicle parked nose-in near a wall is a different access problem from one stopped in an open lot. A damaged wheel or steering problem can also change what is needed. Report these details without trying to reposition a disabled vehicle yourself.

- Which part of the vehicle is damaged or not working.
- Whether keys are available and whether it rolls or steers.
- Parking orientation, barriers and any garage height limit.
- Pickup location and intended destination.
Wheel-lift or flatbed: what should you request?
